France celebrate Maxime Medard's try France dominated the first half to lead 16-0 at the break

England crashed out of the Rugby World Cup after being outplayed by France in their quarter-final in Auckland.

Vincent Clerc and Maxime Medard both touched down as France took advantage of a sloppy England display to take a 16-0 half-time lead at Eden Park.

England improved in the second half and Ben Foden broke through to break their duck and Mark Cueto added a late try to set up a tense final flurry.

But France held on to secure a deserved victory and a semi-final against Wales.
