Haqqanis behind Kabul attack: U.S. Ambassador (Reuters)
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – The Haqqani network, one of the most feared insurgent groups in Afghanistan, was behind the recent rocket attack on the American embassy in Kabul, and there is evidence the network is linked to the Islamabad government, the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan said in comments broadcast on Saturday.
“…Let me tell that the attack that took place in Kabul a few days ago, that was the work of the Haqqani network,” Cameron Munter told Radio Pakistan.
“There is evidence linking the Haqqani Network to the Pakistan government. This is something that must stop.”
