Iran to free convicted U.S. men Wednesday: lawyer (Reuters)
TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran’s judiciary said on Wednesday that two U.S. citizens convicted of spying will be released on bail, Iranian state television reported.
“Until the final verdict is issued by the appeals court regarding the two American citizens’ eight years jail term (each) … they will be released on $500,000 bail each,” the judiciary said.
The judiciary denied last week that Shane Bauer and Joshua Fattal’s release was imminent, as announced by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, adding that the release was under review.
