TEHRAN (Reuters) – Two U.S. men who were released from an Iranian jail after two years left the country on Wednesday, the official Irna news agency reported.

“The two Americans left Iran from Mehrabad airport,” Irna reported. The agency said the men were expected to go to Oman first.

Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal had been in Iranian custody since their arrest on July 31, 2009 on the border with Iraq where they say they were hiking. They were jailed for espionage.
