USGS reports 5.2 magnitude quake off west Indonesia (Reuters)

SINGAPORE (Reuters) – A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck off the Indonesian coast of western Sumatra on Wednesday, the United States Geological Survey said, but no tsunami warning was issued.

The USGS said the quake was recorded at 1435 GMT (10:35 a.m. EDT) 98 miles west of Bengkulu at a shallow depth of 5.8 miles.
